JOHOR BARU: A 10-second video clip of a woman taking out her frustrations on a parked car in Taman Perling, set social media abuzz after it went viral yesterday.
The footage posted by user @Update11111 on X, captured the woman in a dress, smashing the driver's side mirror with a hard object before climbing onto the vehicle and shattering the rear window.
The post cheekily speculated that she was exacting revenge on a cheating boyfriend.
Netizens could not resist adding their two sen, suggesting it was clearly a lovers' spat between an unmarried couple, as "after all, married couple wouldn't dare destroy anything they have to shell out money to fix".
While the online banter was amusing, Johor Baru (North) police chief Assistant Commissioner Balveer Singh was not laughing.
He said stern action could be taken against the woman for damaging someone else's property.
The culprit may face up to five years in prison and a fine if found guilty under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief.
He confirmed that a police report was lodged by the car owner on Aug 5.
However, he did not disclose any information about the woman.
