KUALA LUMPUR: A recent video of an accident involving a motorcycle and a car at Jalan Raja Laut has gone viral.
The video, posted on the Facebook page 'Tragedi Apa Hari Ini?', shows a group of motorcyclists speeding through traffic when one of them collides with a car coming from the left side of the junction.
The injured motorcyclist was helped by other passing motorcyclists.
The accident also caused a traffic jam, preventing other vehicles from passing through the junction.
Netizens flooded the comment section with a debate on who might be at fault.
"But it was the car's fault, right? Because when they started, their traffic light was already green, but people say green doesn't necessarily mean safe," said Haikal Arman.
"It looks like the car ran a red light, or am I mistaken?" said Ahmad Mohid Zainal.
"The traffic light was still red, but the motorcycle was already moving. Look at the reflection of the light near the pole," said Sholihin.
"If you look at the reflection on the pole, the motorcycle was moving when the light was still red, while the car might have been transitioning on a yellow light," said Abdul Aziz."
The New Straits Times has reached out to Kuala Lumpur police for further details on the accident.
