Police arrest 3 women for alleged baby abuse at Sarawak daycare

KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak police arrested three women in connection with the alleged abuse of an eight-month-old baby at a daycare centre in Batu Kawa, Padawan.

The baby had allegedly been bitten while under the care of the daycare centre.

Padawan district police chief, Superintendent Mohd Irwan Hafiz, said those arrested included the caretaker and owner of the daycare centre.

He said police received a report from the baby's parents on Tuesday at about 9.30pm before the arrest was made.

"The suspects were arrested at about 7.00pm yesterday, and the case is being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001," he said.
