TUARAN: The passing of veteran TV3 journalist Elphege Godomon is a great loss to the Media Prima group, said Media Prima Omnia (Direct Solutions) chief operating officer Datuk Mohd Efendi Omar.
"Today, we gather at this house to pay our final respects to Elphege, who was an integral part of our family," he said.
"Elphege served the company for 24 years. He was kind, generous and well-loved by his colleagues.
"On behalf of Media Prima, we extend our deepest condolences and pray that Elphege rests in peace.
"We also pray for strength and comfort for his family during this difficult time," he said after visiting Elphege's family at Kampung Kionsom Lama here.
Elphege, a senior correspondent and regional coordinator for Sabah and Sarawak, was found unconscious on Christmas Eve at his family home at 5.30am.
He passed away at the age of 53, leaving behind two children. His wife had passed away in 2016.
Efendi also met Elphege's mother, Nora Simon Kusin, his elder brothers Ebenezer and Ezbon, as well as his 19-year-old daughter, Elma.
Present during the visit were Media Prima Deputy Group Managing Editor of news Farrah Naz Karim, and News and Current Affairs Television Networks group editor Azhari Muhidin.
Nora, 75, expressed her gratitude to the Media Prima group for paying their respects.
"We truly appreciate this gesture and hope all of you will cherish the friendship and good times you shared with him," she said.
