KOTA BARU: Those who violate Kelantan's entertainment regulations will face stiffer fines of up to RM50,000 starting 1 January next year, said State Local Government committee chairman Hilmi Abdullah.
This follows amendments to the Entertainment and Places Entertainment Control Enactment, which were passed during the Kelantan State Assembly sitting last month.
The amendments include an increase in the fine for organising entertainment events without a permit, from RM20,000 to RM50,000.
"Individuals or companies who plan to organise entertainment events to submit applications in advance to facilitate the review process and avoid any violation," he said.
It was previously reported that the enactment, after the amendments, consisted of six parts, 48 sections and one schedule.
Earlier today, Hilmi confirmed that the organiser of a mining company's dinner event, which allegedly featured a belly dance performance in Tanah Merah on Saturday, has been fined RM10,000 by the Tanah Merah District Council.
Earlier this week, a 31-second video went viral on social media platforms, including TikTok, showing a woman performing a belly dance in revealing attire during a mining company's dinner event in Tanah Merah."
