GEORGE TOWN: At least seven houses at the Hong Seng Estate in Mount Erskine were razed in an evening fire today.
No one was injured in the incident.
At press time, firefighters were still putting out the fire and monitoring the surroundings.
It is learnt that at least two of the houses were occupied by foreign nationals.
The fire is believed to have started in one of the houses before spreading to the others.
Neighbours claimed this was not the first time a fire had broken out in the house.
"This is the third time a fire has broken out from the house," a woman claimed.
In March 2021, a senior citizen sustained minor injuries in a fire that razed four terrace houses, including his, at the Hong Seng Estate in Mount Erskine. (Hyperlink: https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2021/03/677997/elderly-man-barely-esc...)
