Driver killed after car plunges down steep slope, into housing area

SEREMBAN: A man was killed after the car he was driving lost control and fell down a slope in a housing area near Jalan Persiaran Nusari 1, Nusari Bayu, Bandar Sri Sendayan, this morning.

Seremban district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din said the passenger, a woman, suffered severe injuries in the incident which occurred around 9am.

"Initial investigations found that the accident occurred when a car, driven by a 36-year-old man with his mother, was heading from Nusari Aman towards Rasah Jaya.

"When they reached the location, it is believed the driver lost control of the vehicle and veered into the opposite lane. The car then struck an iron fence at the side of the road near the slope, which was about 10 to 15 meters high.

"The car then overturned into the Taman Nusari Bayu 1 housing area," he said in a statement today.

As a result of the crash, the driver suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Meanwhile, the rear passenger sustained severe injuries and was taken to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital for further treatment.

"The victim's body has been sent to the Rembau Hospital Forensic Department for a post-mortem examination. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and further investigations are ongoing," he added.
