Body of auxiliary policeman found on hillside near Lembah Beringin

HULU SELANGOR: The disappearance of a motorcyclist following a crash at kilometre 408 of the Plus Highway, near Lembah Beringin, was resolved when the body of the victim was found 300 metres from the accident site, eight hours after the incident.

The body of the 51-year-old man was discovered in a bushy area on the hillside at around 7.50am yesterday.

It is understood that the victim, who served as an auxiliary policeman at an agency, was on his way home to this district.

Hulu Selangor District police chief, Superintendent Ahmad Faizal Tahrim, said the police received a report of the accident at 6.02am yesterday.

"Initial investigations revealed that the accident occurred when a Toyota Vios, driven by a 24-year-old man, skidded and lost control, crashing into the victim.

"The car then veered to the left lane, hitting a road barrier before veering to the right lane," he said.

Ahmad Faizal added that the crash caused the motorcyclist to be thrown onto the hillside, where he was confirmed dead at the scene.

The victim's body has been taken to the Forensic Unit at Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for an autopsy, while the vehicle involved in the crash has been seized by the Hulu Selangor Traffic Branch for further action.

"Investigations are being conducted under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act (RTA) 1987.

"The police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation," he said.
