KUALA LUMPUR: Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri shared his admiration of the vibrant festivities around Brickfields here a day before Deepavali.
He said visitors who were there earlier today (Oct 30) were not limited to the Indian community alone but also included Malaysians from various ethnicities.
"Like every year, I go to Brickfields to buy clothes for the Deepavali celebration.
"As we know, it is not only Indians who shop here; other communities like Malays and Chinese also come here as many come to buy items in preparation for tomorrow's Deepavali celebration.
"This is the symbol of Keluarga Malaysia unity I often speak of—although we have different religions and ethnicities, we can still celebrate Deepavali together," Ismail told the reporters after visiting the Deepavali preparations at Bollywood Fashion here.
Earlier today (Oct 30), he went to the outlet and various other shops around the area to get his Deepavali attire for tomorrow.
He was accompanied by MIC Deputy President M Saravanan together with Bollywood Sdn Bhd CEO Datuk Mohamed Rafi.
