Three injured in car fire on Shah Alam Expressway

KUALA LUMPUR: Three people escaped with minor injuries when a car they were travelling in burst into flames following an accident along the Shah Alam Expressway today.

The City Fire and Rescue Department operations control centre said the incident occurred around 12.26am at the the Shah Alam Expressway on-ramp leading to Sri Petaling.

"A team of firemen and two fire engines from the Sri Petaling and Bukit Jalil Fire Stations responded to the distress call.

"They arrived at the scene and found that the driver and two passengers suffered minor burns and injuries but managed to escape the vehicle which was engulfed in flames," it said on Sunday.

It added that they used two hoses to fight the fire and managed to put out the fire completely at around 1.09am.
