IPOH: The tiger believed to have attacked two victims, one in Bersia, Gerik, and a Myanmar national in Batu Melintang, Jeli, Kelantan, recently, has been captured.
Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) Perak director Yusoff Shariff confirmed this when contacted today.
He stated that details regarding the capture would be provided soon by the Kelantan Perhilitan director, as the capture occurred within that state, specifically in Jeli.
"Yes, it was captured near Jeli. Therefore, the Kelantan Perhilitan director will provide more information," he said.
Earlier, Yusoff said Perhilitan Perak and Kelantan had collaborated to set up traps at identified locations to capture the tiger suspected of attacking the two victims.
He noted that it was likely that the tiger responsible for both attacks was the same animal, as the two locations were about four kilometres apart along the East-West Highway (JRTB) Gerik-Jeli, and the incidents occurred within a short time frame.
