KUALA LUMPUR: The government will introduce a multi-tier levy system early next year to reduce the country's dependence on foreign workers.
Revenue generated from this levy will be reinvested to facilitate automation and mechanisation in various sectors, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today.
Anwar who tabled the 2025 Budget (Belanjawan 2025) in the Dewan Rakyat also said RM50 million would be allocated for grants to help local entrepreneurs with digitalisation efforts.
He said RM100 million will also be allocated over five years to strengthen NADI centres nationwide to help support online entrepreneurship activities.
