BALING: A total of 218 victims from 68 families are still at the Flood Evacuation Centres (PPS) in this district as of 8pm.
Baling District Civil Defence officer, Lieutenant (Civil Defence) Mohd Faizol Ab Aziz, said that the number of victims has increased from 214 to 218 this evening, involving just one additional family.
He said that all victims are still staying at the PPS because the weather remains overcast and conditions are unsafe as the water level of the Ketil River is still at a warning level.
"The victims will stay at the PPS until conditions return to normal, after which they will be allowed to return home," he said.
Mohd Faizol added that so far there have been no reports of incidents at all seven PPS housing the flood victims.
"The Baling Social Welfare Department (JKM) is conducting regular surveys to ensure the safety of the flood victims," he said.
