KOTA BARU: A 33-year-old man attacked by a sun bear in Gua Musang earlier this week has died.
The victim, Muhamad Zaki Che Mohamed succumbed to his injuries while being treated at Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital in Kubang Kerian.
Zaki, who was warded in the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU), died at 3.45am.
His sister, Siti Jamilah, 22, said her brother will be buried in Kampung Jerek today (Sept 14).
It was previously reported that Zaki was attacked by a sun bear while setting up traps for birds in a forest in Kampung Dalam Senduk.
The Kelantan Wildlife and National Parks Department has deployed a team to the scene to catch the sun bear.
