DENGKIL: A crocodile suspected of being lost caused a stir among residents here today after it was spotted in an oil palm plantation.
A spokesperson from the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) said they received a call from the public at 10.10am about the presence of a crocodile in the said plantation.
According to the spokesperson, a five member team were dispatched to the location, and they confirmed the presence of the reptile in the area.
He said that the crocodile was captured with the assistance of officers and personnel from the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan).
"The crocodile was then handed over to Perhilitan to be relocated to a safer place."
"The officers and personnel conducted a final inspection before returning to the Sepang District Operations Control Centre (PKOD)," he said.
