KUANTAN: Developers will only be granted three extensions of time (EOT) to complete projects under the state government.
Pahang state secretary Datuk Seri Zulkifli Yaacob in a statement said if the developers fail to complete the project within the stipulated period, they will be blacklisted and reported to the Construction Industry Development Board for further action.
"Failure to complete the projects on schedule will affect the development planned across the state.
"We have implemented various mechanisms to ensure projects can be completed according to schedule including project monitoring committee meetings and frequent visits to the project site," he said.
Meanwhile, Zulkifli said the Pahang government last year set aside RM319 million for 211 development projects across the state and only four projects experienced delays while the others are progressing as planned.
He said this year, RM374 million has been allocated to implement 249 projects involving 10 implementing agencies and till July 31, five projects had been delayed beyond schedule.
On projects implemented by the federal agencies under the 12th Malaysia Plan totalling RM3.19 billion in Pahang, Zulkifli said they are closely monitored by the State Development Office through the State Development Action Council, State Development Action Committee and District Development Action Committee.
