KUALA LUMPUR: The government has reduced the retail price of diesel in the peninsula by 2 sen, effective from August 22 to August 28, in response to fluctuations in global crude oil prices.
Based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM), the prices of RON97 and RON95 remain unchanged at RM3.47 and RM2.05 per litre, respectively.
Whereas, the diesel price in Peninsular Malaysia has been reduced to RM3.23 per litre, while in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan, it remains at RM2.15 per litre.
The Finance Ministry, in a statement today, said the government remains committed to monitoring market developments and will continue to adjust the retail price of diesel based on the global oil market while ensuring price stability.
It will continue to monitor global crude oil price trends and take appropriate measures to safeguard the welfare and well-being of the people, it said.
