Prince Court launches nation's first electric motorcycle ambulance service

KUALA LUMPUR: The country's first electric motorcycle ambulance was launched by Prince Court Medical Centre (PCMC) here today.

The launch, in partnership with First Ambulance, marks a significant enhancement to the hospital's first responder service.

PCMC chief executive Dr Shuba Srinivasan said the motorcycle ambulance initiative emphasises the hospital's dedication to providing faster, life-saving medical assistance and improving emergency care in traffic-congested areas.

She said the hospital is providing free ambulance services within a 10-kilometre radius of its Kuala Lumpur location.

"The introduction of the electric motorcycle ambulance marks a major advancement in providing faster and more efficient medical assistance.

"Through this initiative, Prince Court is leading the way in emergency medical response, strengthening our commitment as a responsible healthcare provider to improving the well-being of the communities we serve," she said.

First Ambulance is a leading emergency medical services and patient transport provider in Malaysia, with over two decades of experience.

Its managing director, Stevan Penafort said First Ambulance's partnership with Prince Court in launching the electric motorcycle ambulance was part of their emergency response efforts.

He said the innovative approach would enable paramedics to reach patients faster to deliver essential interventions.
