KUALA LUMPUR: Toh Puan Raghad Kurdi Taib, the widow of the late Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud, has lodged a police report after being denied entry into her home in Sarawak by security guards.
Toh Puan Raghad, in an Instagram post today, said she has also made the necessary court applications regarding the matter.
In the post, Raghad claimed she discovered the issue when she returned to Kuching to visit her late husband's grave and make a charitable donation in his name.
"After the Majlis Tautan Kasih Tun Taib in Satok, I drove home, but to my surprise, I was not allowed entry into my own house.
"We were turned away at the gate, and the guards told me they did not have the authorisation to let me in.
"However, Alhamdulillah, the guard, out of the goodness of his heart, eventually let me in. Allah will always protect and defend those who are oppressed," she said in the post.
Raghad also claimed that the security guard who allowed her in was fired from his job.
"I have lodged a police report about this incident and have made the necessary court applications.
"Please understand that I am doing all this with a heavy heart. I shouldn't have to prove anything to anyone.
"He was my husband, but I have to document this shameful act done against me and demand justice. I know I haven't been sharing my stories before, but I think it's time to do so," she said.
Taib, the former Sarawak Yang Dipertua Negeri, died on February 21 this year. He was the longest-serving Sarawak Chief Minister, holding the role for 32 years from 1981.
