KUALA LUMPUR: A parliament member has vehemently condemned the death threats made against Seputeh MP Teresa Kok.
Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng said that threatening someone's life and safety was intolerable in a civilised society and called for a united denouncement of such intimidation and extremist behaviour.
"Every Malaysian must unite in harmony and be tolerant of one another. We must collectively reject any form of violence and threats that could divide our society.
"Let us maintain our nation's unity and peace by respecting and understanding each other," he said in a statement today.
Yesterday, Kok revealed in a Facebook post that she had received death threats, including a letter and two bullets, which were left in her mailbox.
