KUALA LUMPUR: The Klang Royal City Council has directed 16 premises operating without permission on school reserve land in Jalan Langat, Bandar Botanik, to halt their operations.
Its corporate communications director Norfiza Mahfiz said the council will not compromise with any premises operating without permission.
She said this came in response to various complaints, including dissatisfaction from residents due to road damage caused by vehicles entering and exiting, drainage system issues and noise disturbances.
Norfiza said the premises have been directed to shut operations and restore the land to its original condition.
"The operation was led by Deputy Mayor Mohd Zary Affendi Mohd Arif and attended by internal technical departments, local leaders, Klang Lands and Mines Department, Tenaga Nasional Bhd, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd and Klang Selatan police.
"The council views this matter seriously as it involves public interest as well as regulations disregarded by the parties concerned before commencing any development," she said.
In the operation, said Norfiza, the council issued orders in line with the provisions under the Local Government Act for conducting businesses without permission.
She said investigation papers have been filed in court and scheduled for mention on May 16.
Norfiza said there will be constant integrated operations involving council departments and external agencies to ensure compliance with established laws by all parties involved.
