Two women killed, two injured in North-South Expressway crash

JASIN: Two women were killed, and two others injured after the car they were in is believed to have skidded and crashed into a guardrail at Km187.6 northbound of the North-South Expressway.

Melaka Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they received a call regarding the accident at 6.23am today.

He said eight personnel, including two from the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit from the Jasin Bestari fire station, were dispatched to the scene, located 15km away, arriving 18 minutes later.

"Upon arrival, it was found that a Perodua Myvi had skidded, with two women in their 20s having managed to escape.

"Two other women were trapped in the severely damaged vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

"The operations commander reported that the two trapped victims were successfully extricated and handed over to the police for further action," he said.
