KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested two men in connection with a road rage incident that led to the damage of a car near Gleneagles Hospital here last week.
Wangsa Maju police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Lazim Ismail said the men aged between 35 to 39 were arrested on Monday.
One of them, Muhammad Khairul Anuar Mohd Tahir, 39, was charged today at the Kuala Lumpur magistrate's court with damaging the victim's car, in which he pleaded guilty. The court imposed a fine of RM1,000, which he subsequently paid.
"Meanwhile, another individual (Muhammad Zuadi Ludin) was made a prosecution witness," Lazim said in a statement.
On Sunday, he said the police were investigating the case that took place on Nov 26 after receiving a report from a 45-year-old local man.
In the incident, the victim had sounded his horn to warn the driver of a Perodua Axia that was attempting to cut into his lane.
The situation escalated when the Axia driver stopped at a traffic light junction near the hospital before reportedly alighting from his vehicle.
He confronted the victim before breaking the right mirror of his car and kicking the left door, causing it to become dented.
Lazim said the case was classified under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief resulting in damage.
