SERI ISKANDAR: A student from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) was killed and three others injured when the car they were in skidded off Jalan Teknologi 1 last night.
The 19-year-old male victim from Sabah was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which happened at 8pm.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said firemen responded to the incident at 8.19pm.
"Upon arrival, we found the Perodua Bezza that had skidded off the road shoulder. None of the victims were trapped inside," he said today.
Medical officers confirmed one dead at the scene, while the other three sustained minor injuries. The victims were all 19 years old.
The body was handed over to the police for further action, while the injured were taken to Changkat Melintang Hospital.
The operation ended at 8.49pm.
Earlier, a video showing the Perodua Bezza hitting a road divider and then rolling several times and crossing into the opposite lane went viral. It also showed one of the victims being thrown out from the vehicle.
