Cops: Lodge reports online if no crime involved

KUALA LUMPUR: The public are no longer required to visit police stations to lodge reports if it is not crime-related, as it can now be done online.

In a social media post, the police force said reports that do not require further investigation by the police can be made online.

"Among the reports that can be made online include the loss of an identification card, driving licence, credit or bank card, mobile phone, laptop, or road tax.

"In addition, incidents such as a runaway domestic helper or losses due to natural disasters can also be reported online," said the force.

Online reports must be made by registered users who are Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above.

"The report can be made at https://ereporting.rmp.gov.my/index.aspx. This is a police initiative to make it easier for the public to file reports," said the force.

Police reports that can be made online:

- Lost identity card/MyKad

- Lost license

- Lost credit/ATM card

- Lost mobile phone

- Lost laptop

- Lost road tax

- Runaway domestic helper

- Loss/damage due to natural disasters
