PUTRAJAYA: A member of Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holdings (GISB) arrived at the magistrate's court here at 8.40am today.
Clad in a fully covered brown sweater, a face mask, and sunglasses, the 39-year-old man arrived at the court alone.
There was no police escort.
It is understood that the man was granted police bail after his four-day remand expired.
He is expected to be charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation, which carries imprisonment for a term that may extend to two years, a fine, or both upon conviction.
He is one of the three people believed to be linked to GISB, which is at the centre of a major police probe on child abuse, would be charged in three separate courts today.
GISB is now the focus of a police investigation after raids were conducted on 20 welfare homes allegedly linked to the group.
On Sept 11, the raids saw 402 people, some as young as 1-year-old, rescued.
Police said the victims had endured various forms of exploitation and abuse, including being sodomised.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain told the NST on Saturday that GISBH had been on the police watch list since 2011.
He said the coordinated raids of the homes were the culmination of a six-month probe to gather intelligence, build a case and formulate an action plan.
Razarudin had also said the Anti-Money Laundering Criminal Investigation (AMLA) Unit was probing the private Muslim conglomerate's finances.
GISB had since denied the allegations of child exploitation and sexual abuse.
