JEMPOL: A motorcyclist was killed early today in a collision with a sports utility vehicle (SUV) on Kilometer 28 of Jalan Bahau-Keratong at 12:30am.
Jempol Police Chief Superintendent Hoo Chang Hook said the 20-year-old motorcyclist was travelling from Bahau.
Upon arriving at the scene of the incident, he said, the victim is believed to have lost control and veered into the opposite lane.
An SUV driven by a 29-year-old man from Rompin then struck the fallen motorcyclist, he said.
"As a result of the accident, the victim suffered severe head injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene," he said in a statement.
Hoo said the victim's body was sent to Jempol Hospital.
He said the accident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Police are calling any witnesses to the incident to come forward to assist the investigation or contact Inspector Muhammad Fasha Mohd Faisal at 016-3627746.
