AMPANG: A lorry driver with a bread company was charged at the Sessions Court today with two counts of sexually assaulting his biological daughter for close to 11 months from last year.
The father, 41, pleaded not guilty before judge Norshila Kamaruddin.
He was accused of committing the acts on the girl who was then aged between 12 and 13.
The alleged sexual assault had taken place at a house in Jalan Semenyih from mid October last year to Aug 21 this year.
The charges under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2007 carries a maximum 20 years jail term and whipping upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Norhashimah Hashim did not offer bail as the offences were serious.
"It is also because the accused is the victim's biological father. He is still the husband to the victim's biological mother and they live at the same address," she said.
Norshila denied bail for the father, who was unrepresented, and set Nov 13 for mention.
