SHAH ALAM: The policewoman wife of a comedian will face disciplinary action for disseminating internal information about the district police headquarters on Telegram.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the investigation papers into the leak had been sent to the deputy public prosecutor's office on Thursday.
However, he said, so far no charges will be made against the leak of information by the policewoman or her husband.
"The policewoman, however, is subject to disciplinary action," he told Harian Metro when contacted.
It was previously reported that the comedian and his wife were detained to assist in investigations regarding the dissemination of internal information related to the Shah Alam police headquarters.
Their mobile phones were seized to facilitate investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act.
This was after a Telegram post went viral over the goings-on at the Shah Alam police headquarters and the dissemination of images from a visit by the federal Logistics Department director Datuk Sahabudin Abd Manan, who was inspecting the headquarters.
