KUALA TERENGGANU: A spa owner was fined RM30,000 at the Sessions Court here today for operating a private medical clinic without a permit.
Murni Nur Akma Idrus, 25, also faces a three-month jail term if she fails to settle the fine.
Judge Mohd Zul Zakiqudin Zulkifli made the decision after Murni Nur Akma pleaded guilty to the charges.
According to the charges, she was accused of operating an unregistered private medical clinic under Section 27 of the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998 (Act 586).
The offence was alleged to have taken place in an apartment in Kampung Bukit Kecil here at 3.50pm on Oct 11, 2022.
The prosecution was conducted by Ministry of Health officers Nozaizeli Abu Samah and Shamsulnizam Kassim, whereas the accused was represented by lawyer Nurul Najmi Adila Mohd Nasir.
