KUALA LUMPUR: The investigations over the death threat received by Seputeh member of parliament Teresa Kok is still ongoing and nearing its final stages.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said police have received clues on the origins of the death threat, which was a letter enclosed with two bullets.
"We have conducted an investigation and it is almost complete. We have backtracked from where the envelope was received, but we have not gotten anything (from it) so far.
"We also have a clue about where the envelope was sent from, but it is not certain as it cannot be confirmed due to it being sent via a normal courier.
"Yes, the sender is a postman but he does not know what was delivered, hence, we are continuing the investigation on the matter," he said when met by reporters at Kuala Lumpur contingent police headquarters, today.
Previously, Kok reportedly received a death threat in her mailbox.
Upon opening the envelope, Kok said she found two bullets and an A4-sized white paper with a threatening message.
At the same time, Rusdi also urged members of the public to share any information on the matter with the police.
"No matter how little it (the information) is, share it with the police so we can process it (for further investigation).
"Meanwhile, Rusdi earlier witnessed former Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department (CID) deputy director Mohd Razali Mohd Idrus appointed as the department's head.
Mohd Razali, who previously served under Bukit Aman's CID, will replace Datuk Habibi Majinji who has been the department's head since 2022.
Habibi was transferred to Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) as Land Operations Division Chief.
