Proton says 2024 X50 "exceptionally" received, 8,000 bookings since June debut 

KUALA LUMPUR: National carmaker Proton Holdings Bhd says it has received an overwhelming response to its newly-launched 2024 Proton X50, with 8,000 bookings received within one month of its June debut. 

Prorton said this far surpassed its initial expectations and set a new benchmark in its segment. 

In response to the demand, Proton said it was ramping up production to expedite delivery timeline for customers by August 2024. 

"We are thrilled to see such exceptional booking numbers in the first month alone, which demonstrates the strong appeal of the 2024 Proton X50. This reaffirms our commitment to delivering outstanding value and quality to our customers.

"We understand the excitement and anticipation surrounding the 2024 Proton X50, and we want to assure our customers that we are doing everything possible to meet their expectations," said Proton Edar Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Roslan Abdullah.

Since its initial introduction in 2020, Proton X50 has consistently led as Malaysia's best-selling SUV, with 115,262 units sold up to June 2024.

According to Proton, all customers who are entitled for early bird promotion of RM7,000 cash discount and RM1,000/ RM1,500 trade-in support will receive it accordingly.

The new noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) package improves over 20 areas for better road noise insulation, creating a quieter and more refined interior ambiance. 

Additionally, the power tailgate added to the Premium and Flagship variants offers ease of operation.

One of the most talked-about enhancements on social media is the best-in-class 360 camera, which delivers exceptional clarity even in low-light conditions, making parking a breeze. 

Test drive videos have highlighted the 3D display that integrates a blind spot monitoring system, enhancing safety and awareness while cruising at speeds up to 150 km/h.
