#SHOWBIZ: Saloma KL honours veteran artistes

SALOMA Kuala Lumpur has announced initiatives to help struggling veteran artistes, particularly those battling financial difficulties or health issues.

The establishment plans to set up a fund to support artistes in need.

Saloma Kuala Lumpur patrons can contribute to this fund, allowing the community to come together to help those who have shaped Malaysia's cultural legacy.

Saloma Kuala Lumpur Group president Datin Rosmariza Che Umar said the initiative was a collaboration with Persatuan Karyawan Malaysia (Karyawan).

She said it was important to honour Malaysia's artistic greats, including the late Puan Sri Saloma and the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee.

"This initiative is our tribute to the country's artistic and cultural legends.

"We hope to preserve their memory by supporting the artistes who are still here with us," she said during the 'Malam Naungan Rahmat, Limpahan Berkat' event recently.

The event celebrated veteran artistes, including Zaiton Sameon, Isma Aliff, Sofia Ibrahim, Mak Jah and Shuib of Freedom.

It also helped orphans and tahfiz students, underlining the community-centric spirit of the initiative.

Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Saloma is a tribute to Malaysia's rich cultural heritage, blending culinary arts and classical Malay architecture.

Its design draws inspiration from the golden era of Puan Sri Saloma and Tan Sri P. Ramlee, with iconic songs by the legends setting a nostalgic atmosphere for guests.
