KUALA LUMPUR: Actress and entrepreneur Rozita Che Wan, popularly known as Che Ta, faced a court-ordered raid at her residence in Kota Damansara, Selangor this morning.
The raid, carried out by Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), led to the seizure of personal belongings valued at nearly RM100,000, Berita Harian reported.
According to MARA's legal representative, the seizure was related to Rozita's alleged unpaid debts totaling close to RM1 million.
"This is our second visit to Rozita's house. During our first attempt last month, we were unable to proceed due to a lack of cooperation.
"This time, we obtained a court order to enter and seize items," said the lawyer, who declined to be named.
He revealed that the seized items primarily comprised household goods and personal belongings.
A writ was also served to Rozita's mother, as the actress was not present during the raid.
The lawyer further disclosed that the confiscated items are expected to be auctioned within two weeks, pending final court instructions.
"For now, the auction process is awaiting further directions from the court. Any negotiations must also go through legal channels," he added.
Rozita's eldest son, Ammar Effendy, 28, who was at the residence during the raid, declined to comment on the matter.
Attempts by Berita Harian to reach Rozita and her manager for statements have so far been unsuccessful.
