#SHOWBIZ: Jamal, son Osama deny link to luxury car theft

KUALA LUMPUR: Renowned singer Datuk Jamal Abdillah has expressed dismay over wild allegations linking his son, Osama Yamani, to a luxury car theft case.

Jamal, 65, revealed that Osama had contacted him to discuss the matter, which has caused emotional distress.

"Osama complained to me, saying, 'Baba, I've been slandered.' When I asked what it was about, he mentioned the car theft issue.

"I questioned if he was involved, and he denied it," Jamal told Harian Metro.

Jamal said Osama was deeply saddened by the public's assumption that he, as Jamal's son, was involved. "He's upset because people are associating this with me, his father. It's disheartening as I have no connection to it," Jamal added.

As a father and an experienced figure in the entertainment industry, Jamal advised his son to remain calm.

"I told him that being in the public eye means not everyone will support or like us. Some will try to bring us down. Be patient and let's see how this unfolds," he said.

Jamal also hinted at possible legal action if the situation worsens.

"If my reputation continues to be tarnished, I will take court action against the parties responsible," he warned.

Previously, media reports alleged that the son of a 1990s singer stole a Ferrari worth RM300,000 on Nov 17.

However, the individual pleaded not guilty during a recent court appearance.
