KUALA LUMPUR: Celebrity couple Diana Danielle and Farid Kamil have once again captured public attention amid their ongoing domestic crisis.
Speculation is rife following Diana's surprise decision to file for divorce a second time, reigniting conversations around their relationship.
Some netizens have linked Diana's actions to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), a condition they believe the actress may have.
However, Diana, whose full name is Diana Danielle Danny Beeson, 33, dismissed these assumptions as unfounded and offensive.
"I consider such claims personal attacks and don't take them seriously," she told Berita Harian.
Despite navigating a family crisis and managing her mental health, the Imaginur actress expressed gratitude for her resilience.
"Alhamdulillah, I've been able to manage myself well. I'm not a psychiatrist to elaborate on ADHD, but I do know awareness about it remains low.
"Unfortunately, there are many stigmas, even among professionals," she shared.
Diana, who has collaborated with the Selangor Government on mental health programmes, highlighted the challenges Malaysians face in accessing mental health support.
"Many are afraid to consult specialists due to perceived costs and stigma. However, the government provides accessible resources, such as emergency helplines, to assist those in need," she said.
Tomorrow, Diana and Farid are scheduled to attend their second divorce proceeding at the Federal Territory Syariah Lower Court.
Reflecting on the situation, Diana expressed her hope for an amicable resolution.
"Whatever the outcome, I will accept it. I just hope for a positive result that's best for both parties," she said.
Diana, who married Farid on Nov 3, 2012, and shares two children – Muhammad, 11, and Nur Aurora, 9 – with him, urged people not to view her as an example for handling domestic challenges.
"Everyone's journey is different. I'm just an ordinary human being doing what's right for myself," she said.
The couple had divorced once before, in August 2023, only to reconcile a month later.
