CELEBRATED powerhouse singer Jaclyn Victor has gone all out by recording her latest album in New York, a project marking her 20th year in the music industry.
To ensure the album's quality and uniqueness, Jaclyn, whose full name is Jaclyn Joshua Thanaraj Victor, made three trips to the United States to work on it.
"The album was originally set to release shortly after my recent concert, but some factors have caused a delay.
"It's ready, but we're awaiting Sony Music's distribution schedule," she said.
The album includes 10 tracks, three of which — 'Kembalilah', 'Kejutkan Aku', and 'Sesal Tak Bermakna' — are already available.
A new single is set for release at the end of this month.
The 45-year-old artiste revealed that two close friends, Adrian Puan and Gerald Sellan, both Malaysian producers based in the US, lent their expertise to the album.
"Adrian and Gerald are long-time friends. We met on a TV show years ago and stayed close ever since," she said.
Eager to showcase a new side of herself, Jaclyn shared that the album's direction, while rooted in pop, experiments with fresh sounds and trends.
"This album reveals a different side of me. Though it hasn't always been easy, I'm excited about exploring this new path.
"It's a bit edgy and modern, which a friend encouraged me to embrace even as I'm getting older," she added.
The album promises a new level of artistry for Jaclyn and is expected to make waves upon its release.
