KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Alya Iman recently shared that she took a four-month break from acting to cope with the sudden loss of her best friend.
"We were very close. She felt like an older sister to me," said the 23-year-old, whose full name is Nur Alya Iman Azmil.
"When she passed, it felt as if time had stopped. I couldn't focus on anything else."
Alya admitted that during this time, she stayed home and distanced herself from everyone.
"Alhamdulillah, eventually, I realised I had to accept it and move on," she told reporters on the set of Susuk Bidadari, in which she stars as a single mother alongside veteran actor Datuk Rosyam Nor.
The horror movie, directed by Faizal Nadxaman, sees Rosyam playing a politician with a dark secret.
It also stars Che Puan Sarimah Ibrahim as Rosyam's wife and Trisha Ooi as their maid.
Produced by Primeworks Studios, Susuk Bidadari is set to premiere in cinemas next year.
