KUALA LUMPUR: Australian superstar Hugh Jackman said that he once worked as a birthday clown and children loved and loathed him for that.
People magazine reported yesterday that multi-talented Jackman who is now starring in Deadpool And Wolverine opened up about being Coco The Clown at children's parties before he "struck gold" as an actor.
"I literally rented a clown outfit, and me and this guy Stan, we went for birthday parties, and we had no skills," said Jackman.
"I always knew that kids would find me out, and one eight-year-old boy did."
Jackman, 55, added that the boy told his mother, "Mum, this clown is crap!"
One trick he could do well was juggling, and this impressed the children.
"I did have many misses though, some eggs landed on my head!"
Jackman previously talked about working as a clown on The Howard Stern Show in 2018.
"They were especially fond of me when they were three and below. They climbed on me, and I juggled all kinds of small objects to entertain them, but nothing more.
"There were no balloon animals or magic tricks."
Jackman said that the eight-year-old boy's party was the last one he attended, and it ended with some of the little guests pelting him with eggs.
In 2015, Jackman posted a photo on social media of himself dressed up as a clown and captioned it "damning proof".
