KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Azharina Azhar has been diagnosed with cancer but has yet to be able to say what type of cancer she has.
According to a news report today, the 39-year-old artiste said that she was waiting for the results of her health report which will be out in two weeks.
"I was diagnosed with cancer but I'm still waiting for the results in two weeks.
"I have to undergo two operations. The first operation was supposed to be next week but had to be postponed because certain things had to be attended to.
"The doctor advised me to go along with this surgery due to health problems because I like to eat. I have to change the way I eat," she said.
Azharina added, that one of the reasons for choosing to postpone her surgery was because of the recovery time.
She said that she needed enough time to prepare and to find reliable employees to manage her business.
Aside from that, the singer also revealed that she has been suffering from diabetes for the past two years.
Although both illnesses interfered with her emotional well-being and daily activities, she explained that she chose to take a positive approach to her situation.
"Of course, I'm just a normal person, so I cry when I get very sick. Usually, I'll listen to sad songs to calm my nerves.
"I will have to face this test even though it's painful," she said.
Previously, Azharina talked briefly about her illness for the first time during a guest spot on the No Filter programme with Elly Mazlein.
She revealed that she suffered severe bleeding while participating in the reality competition, All Stars Gegar Vaganza (GV10) in September 2023.
Although she did not disclose anything specifically, she let on that her doctor had advised her to undergo surgery and chemotherapy.
