KUALA LUMPUR: Controversial Singaporean singer-actor Aliff Aziz's marriage to singer-actress Bella Astillah came to an end today, when he divorced her with a single 'talak' at the Federal Territories Syariah Court in Jalan Duta at 1.11pm.
Syarie judge Wan Mohd Najib recorded the couple's divorce immediately after Aliff pronounced the 'talak' under Section 47 of the Islamic Family Law Enactment (Federal Territories) 1984
The court also ordered Bella or Dayang Ara Nabella Awang Astillah to undergo an 'idah' period "three times of pure state".
Bella had earlier filed for divorce, citing an "absence of love and understanding" under the same section on March 11.
Aliff however refused to divorce Bella, and Wan Mohd Najib agreed that both parties undergo a reconciliation process.
Aliff and Bella were married on Sept 9, 2016 and have two children Mohamad Ayden Adrean and Ara Adreanna.
On March 8, Aliff and actress Ruhainies Zainul Ilyas were arrested by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) for khalwat at her condominium.
