SEPANG: Eraman, the leading retail and duty-free brand under Malaysia Airports (Niaga) Sdn Bhd, has unveiled its revamped duty-free mall located at the main terminal of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1.
Malaysia Airports (Niaga) general manager Md Fadzwin Abdul Rahim said the transformation aims to provide travelers with an enhanced shopping experience, showcasing over 550 renowned brands in the premium travel retail and duty-free categories.
He said around six per cent of the brands currently featured in the mall are local, with plans to increase participation to 10 per cent soon.
"This revamp reflects Eraman's commitment to excellence and innovation in the travel retail segment, setting a new standard for passenger experiences.
"With a carefully curated selection of premium international brands across categories like chocolates, fragrances, cosmetics, and liquor, the mall offers a diverse range of products designed to elevate the shopping experience for all travelers," he said at the launch event here today.
Also present were Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) managing director Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani and MAHB senior general manager of commercial services Hani Ezra Hussin.
The Eraman duty-free mall spans 29,600 square feet.
One of the highlights of the newly revamped space is the opening of the first Charlotte Tilbury store in Southeast Asia, marking a significant milestone in Eraman's efforts to introduce exclusive and trendy brands into Malaysia's airport retail scene.
The store brings a touch of luxury and provides access to a globally renowned beauty brand, taking the airport shopping experience to a new level.
Commenting on the launch of the Charlotte Tilbury store, Md Fadzwin said it not only meets but exceeds travelers' expectations by offering an exclusive and premium shopping experience at KLIA.
"This achievement underscores our ongoing mission to bring prestigious global brands closer to travelers," he said.
He added that Eraman is the first duty-free operator in Malaysia to introduce self-checkout kiosks, which are now available in most of its duty-free stores.
"This innovation highlights our commitment to enhancing customer convenience and meeting the evolving needs of today's travelers.
"In addition, we are excited to soon launch RFID technology in our stores, which will speed up transactions and make the shopping experience more seamless and efficient," he said.
With this latest transformation, Eraman continues to redefine airport retailing, setting new standards and offering a unique shopping experience tailored to international tastes.
This will further strengthen KLIA's status as a world-class shopping destination.
"We are undertaking a similar project at Kota Kinabalu International Airport, with the first phase set to open next year in preparation for Visit Malaysia Year.
"The group is also upgrading the international departure area at KLIA Terminal 2, which is slated for completion by 2025," Md Fadzwin added.
