KUALA LUMPUR: Prasarana Malaysia Bhd has confirmed a cybersecurity incident involving part of its internal system, hours after a threat intelligence platform, FalconFeeds, reported that it had fallen victim to RansomHub ransomware.
In a statement today, the public transport company said its cybersecurity team has identified and is currently addressing the incident, which involves unauthorised access to some of its systems.
"We are managing and handling this situation and are also working with cybersecurity experts to investigate and take mitigation steps."Our priority is the safety and reliability of public transportation services."We would like to confirm that this incident does not affect our daily operations," it said in a statement today.
Prasarana also said that it is working with the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) and CyberSecurity Malaysia to ensure all necessary measures have been taken.
It said this collaborative effort aims to provide a comprehensive response and protect its systems.
"We will continue to provide updates from time to time."Our focus remains on resolving the issue promptly while ensuring that our services continue to meet the public's needs," it added.
FalconFeeds.io on X said the RansomHub ransomware group claims to have obtained 316 gigabyte of the organisation's data and plans to publish it within the next six to seven days.
FalconFeeds claims to provide immediate access to the latest and historical threat intelligence data.
