Bursa Malaysia closed marginally lower on profit-taking

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia closed marginally lower at midday due to profit-taking.

At 12.30pm, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI was down 0.01 per cent or 0.21 points to 1,619.19 points versus Friday's close of 1,619.40.

The key index opened at 1,620.67 and moved between 1,618.36 and 1,622.40 throughout the morning trading session. The broader market was negative with losers leading gainers 578 to 487 while 485 counters remained unchanged.

On the index board, FBM100 was up 0.07 per cent to 11,956.10, FBM Emas rose 0.06 per cent to 12,361.63 and FBM ACE added 0.34 per cent to 5,562.75.

Of the activities, Dagang Nexchange Bhd added 2.5 sen to 47.5 sen and Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd gained 48 sen to RM33.48.

On the losing end, Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd dropped 60 sen to RM127.40 and Heineken Malaysia Bhd lost 24 sen to RM24.32.
